Davies is chair of IG Group Holdings, First Avenue Partners and non-executive director of Portland Gas

Persimmon has appointed Jonathan Davie as non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2010.

Davie is chair of IG Group Holdings and First Avenue Partners, and non-executive director of Portland Gas.

He was previously vice chairman of Credit Suisse, chief executive officer of BZW Global Equities and non-executive director of Credit Suisse UK Private Bank.

John White, Persimmon's chair, said: "He has a wealth of experience and expertise, both in the banking industry and as a non-executive director of Plcs, which will be of great benefit to Persimmon as we continue to develop our business."
