Revenue at building services group up by 4% for period, with future workload also increasing
Services and building group Interserve posted an 18.7% rise in pre-tax profit for the first six months of 2009, compared with the same period a year ago.
The group's profit before tax rose from 拢33.7m to 拢40m, on revenue up 4% from 拢913.6m to 拢951.2m.
The news was revealed today in the firm's interim results for the six months ending 30 June 2009.
A rise was also recorded in future workload, estimated at around 拢6.7bn, against 拢6.4bn at the same time a year ago.
Chief executive Adrian Ringrose said: 鈥淭he half-year was another period of growth and development for Interserve.
鈥淏enefiting from our long-term strategy we increased profits, reduced net debt and secured further contract wins with a whole-life value in excess of 拢1bn that provide improved forward revenue visibility.鈥
