Forecast is for 拢66m pre-tax profit and 拢1.74bn turnover for last year, ahead of releasing full-year results in March

Support services group Interserve has described its 2007 trading as 鈥渧ery strong鈥 ahead of its full-year results on 11 March.

The consensus forecast for 2007 is 拢66.67m pre-tax profit on the back of 拢1.74bn turnover, a large jump on the 2006 pre-tax profit figure of 拢15.1m on 拢1.4bn turnover.

Although it did not release figures, it said it facilities management arm had benefited from the 拢116m acquisition of MacLellan in May 2006.

It said its PFI business had benefited from strong demand for social infrastructure projects while its project services arm had seen a greater-than-anticipated increase in activity.

In its specialist services division, its HVAC and working-at-heights operations have been repositioned and are expected to benefit in 2008.

The group said it would focus its operations in markets that 鈥渙ffer sustainable growth opportunities.鈥
