New park quadruples green space at Broadgate
British Land has unveiled images of a newly remodelled 1.5-acre park at Broadgate in the City of London.
Suspended above the rail lines running into Liverpool Street station, Exchange Square was designed by architects DSDHA to quadruple the amount of green space at the development.
DSDHA鈥檚 founding director Deborah Saunt said the firm wanted to create a landscape that 鈥渘urtures both plants and people鈥.
The redesigned space includes 420 sq m of lawn, gardens, an amphitheatre and new retail and event spaces.
Exchange Square is now open to the public, with works on the site completed in January 2022.
British Land鈥檚 head of campuses, David Lockyer, said Exchange Square aimed to create a better-quality place for worker and residents.
Arup was structural engineer and M&E consultant while Gardiner & Theobald was QS.
