Scheme was built by McLaughlin & Harvey
Work on a new Edinburgh university business and learning campus designed by architect Bennetts Associates was opened yesterday by the Princess Royal, Princess Anne.
The city centre site, called the Bayes Centre, will see researchers and university staff working alongside tech-focused businesses and start-ups. The 9,500 sq m building will be home to 600 people and is part of the university’s Potterrow campus.
It was completed last month by contractor McLaughlin & Harvey with the rest of the project team including QS Turner & Townsend, structural and services engineer Buro Happold and project manager Faithful + Gould.
The centre is the first of five data-driven innovation hubs being created across the Scottish capital and wider south-east Scotland region.
