E-stack, Quiet Revolution and Crest Nicholson recognised by government awards for innovation in built environment

Three companies with a track record for innovation in the built environment have been shortlisted in this year’s iAwards.

E-Stack, Quiet Revolution and Crest Nicholson have all been recognised in the ‘Places to Live and Work category’ of the iAwards, which celebrate British achievements in science, technology and innovation.

The awards are run by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and backed by BBC Two Dragon’s Den star James Caan.

ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø magazine is sponsoring the ‘Places to live and work’ category, which highlights achievements in low impact buildings, reduction of environmental impacts from buildings and innovative functional design.

E-Stack has been shortlisted for its atrium ventilation system, which offers a new approach to reduce the energy consumption of heating, ventilation and air condition systems in residential and commercial buildings and which can help reduce energy consumption from buildings by up to 50%.

Quiet Revolution’s qr5 Wind Turbine, a completely new kind of wind turbine engineered to provide clean, decentralised energy in the urban environment also made it onto the list along with Crest Nicholson for its integration of sustainable practices into developments.

The award ceremony takes place at the Science Museum on 16 November.
