Structure of Crossrail organisation spurs chief executive into quitting

锘緾rossrail chief executive Rob Holden was frustrated with the governance structure of the organisation before he decided to leave last week.

Sources close to the 拢14.5bn rail project said Holden鈥檚 plan to streamline the structure of the body had suffered interference.

Crossrail reports in to TFL, the Department for Transport, and the Treasury.

One source said: 鈥淗e got frustrated at not being able to execute in the manner he was able to at High Speed 1, so thought he鈥檇 get out now.鈥�

Crossrail chair Terry Morgan said: 鈥淭here are no negative reasons for his departure.

鈥淭his project always had complications attached, but he not only knew what he was taking on, but was very good at it.鈥�
