Next year's design and urban planning conference attracts global starchitects

Four of the world鈥檚 most prominent architects are to share the same stage at next year鈥檚 Mipim property conference.

Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind, Thom Mayne and Wolf Prix are scheduled to discuss 鈥渄esign and urban planning issues鈥 in Cannes in March next year, and offer their thoughts on the next generation of architectural practices.

While Hadid and Libeskind are household names in the UK, Mayne is the Pritzker Prize-winning principal of LA-based Morphosis and one of the best-known American architects in the world.

Prix is one of the founders of Coop Himmelb(l)au, the Austrian deconstructivist practice behind the BMW Welt building in Munich (pictured).

The four will be joined by Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, the Japanese founders of Sanaa, the practice most famous for the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York.
