Government will also cut ‘strike price’ for onshore wind and solar energy schemes
The government will change renewable energy subsidies to boost offshore wind projects at the expense of onshore wind and solar energy schemes, the BBC has reported.
The government announced draft plans for a “strike price” to guarantee a minimum electricity price for wind, solar and other green energy schemes in June.
The BBC said the government will announce later today that the strike price for onshore wind and solar would be cut from the figures announced in June, while the strike price for offshore wind would be increased.
The final figures will be announced in a written ministerial statement later.
Labour said “chopping and changing” pricing was bad for business.
