Contractor named on development of 900-student school and 120 homes at Big Build in Oakham

Contractor and developer Galliford Try has won a 拢43m education project in Rutland.

The firm was named preferred bidder on the Big Build project at Oakham for Rutland county council.

The scheme includes construction of a 拢23m school for 900 students, plus community facilities, and the acquisition and development of a 120-home residential site.

Construction of the school is due to start this spring. The housing site, which has an estimated development value of 拢20m, is expected to be handed over to Galliford Try in 2011.
