Firm wins brace of contracts for Yorkshire Water

Galliford Try has won a brace of contracts worth a total of 拢49m for Yorkshire Water, to upgrade its Blackburn Meadows waste water treatment plant in Sheffield.

The larger of the contracts is worth 拢31m and involves improvement to ensure the facility meets the requirements of the EU鈥檚 Freshwater Fish Directive. The programme will last approximately 18 months.

The second scheme is worth 拢18m and will involve the construction of a new mesophilic anaerobic digestion plant.

Greg Fitzgerald, chief executive of Galliford Try, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to secure such substantial and significant schemes from one of our longest standing clients.

鈥淲e have considerable expertise and experience of anaerobic digestion from other water clients and we鈥檙e glad to have the opportunity to share this with Yorkshire Water.鈥
