Part of the Riverside Quarter in Wandsworth, the 拢130m building will house 172 apartments
Frasers Property, part of Singapore-based Frasers Centrepoint, has received planning permission from Wandsworth Council for a landmark 拢130m Thameside apartment building at the Riverside Quarter development in the borough.
The new building will provide 172 mixed-tenure apartments, as well as ground floor retail and commercial premises, parking for 72 cars and 340 bicycles, plus gardens and landscaped terraces fronting onto the river.
Designed as a riverside gateway to Wandsworth, the building is the final stage of Frasers Property鈥檚 10 year regeneration of the former Shell oil terminal, originally the site of a Victorian milliner鈥檚 factory.
Simon Lear, Frasers Property鈥檚 chief executive, said: 鈥淭his landmark mixed use Thameside building will provide a riverside gateway to Wandsworth and is one of the most significant new residential developments in the borough for several years.
鈥淚t marks the final phase of Frasers Property decade-long transformation of the former industrial riverside into a new destination for Wandsworth.鈥
Of the 172 apartments in the new crescent-like building 93 鈥 54% of total 鈥 will be for shared ownership, providing affordable housing with an entry level allowing for households with an annual income of not more than 拢46,000. The remainder will be private sale apartments and penthouses.
