Architect Norman Foster is a new entry in this year鈥檚 Sunday Times Rich List, coming in at 249th with 拢295m.

His entry was based on his property assets and past salaries and the estimated 拢284m stake he could make from the sale of his practice Foster + Partners, which is under way.

This year鈥檚 Rich List was peppered with names from the property and construction sectors.

The Duke of Westminster, the outgoing chairman of Grosvenor, was named the richest across the entire industry coming in at third overall with a fortune of 拢7bn.

JCB chairman Anthony Banford is the richest in construction , coming in at 46th with 拢13bn.

Second is Keith Miller, the chief executive of Miller Group, who is worth 拢810m. David Wilson of Wilson Bowden came in at 101th with 拢729m. John Bloor of Bloor Holdings is worth 拢425m and just behind him at 190th is the Shepherd family, founders of Shepherd Construction, who have a 拢420m fortune. Ray O鈥橰ourke came in at 208th. All had more money than the Queen, who came in at 229th with 拢320m

Other construction names are Duncan Bannatyne (351th), Robert Carter of RG Carter (417th), Sir Martin Laing of John Laing (452th), Noel Bailey of NG Bailey (490th), Tony Pidgley (566), Andrew Wates of the Wates Group (574) and Sir William McAlpine (627).
