Scheme involves strengthening parapets and repainting work
The City of London is looking for a contractor to carry out a refurbishment of Blackfriars Bridge.
The 拢8.5m project involves revamping the bridge鈥檚 cast iron parapets as well as repainting work.
An inspection in January 2018 found the parapets were in a poor condition with a large proportion of the parapet balusters cracking in places. The bridge was last painted in 2000.
One of the key crossing points across the Thames, Blackfriars Bridge was built in 1869 and is grade II listed.
Up to six firms will be shortlisted for the job, which is set to last three years, with firms having until 4 December to in the project.
