Architect鈥檚 overseas turnover up fivefold

Profit at Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios inched up last year on the back of a hike in turnover mostly down to it picking up more work outside the UK.

The practice, which was nominated for last year鈥檚 Stirling Prize for its Manchester School of Art scheme, edged operating profits up by just over 拢100,000 to 拢2.4 million with revenue up 4% to 拢11.6 million.

Most of the increase in turnover came from Europe, the Middle East and the US with work here shooting up from 拢92,000 to more than 拢450,000.

The highest paid person at the practice, who is not named, picked up just over 拢137,000.

Among the schemes the practice is working on are the overhaul of the Southbank Centre and the refurbishment of Alexandra Palace 鈥� venue of the recent PDC World Darts Championship 鈥� in north London.
