RCA student鈥檚 sculpture comprises four layers of open framed boxes suspended at different heights
Royal College of Art fine art graduate Jackie Brown's art installation has been unveiled at cost consultant EC Harris鈥 headquarters in London.
It was commissioned to celebrate the firm鈥檚 first anniversary at its office in York Way.
Called 鈥榣ittle boxes鈥, the installation was selected from a shortlist of designs by students at the London post graduate college.
Brown鈥檚 installation comprises four layers of open framed boxes suspended at different heights and angles from the ceiling of the building鈥檚 atrium.
Brown said: 鈥淚n my mind鈥檚 eye I pictured these little sculptures during my first visit to EC Harris鈥 offices.
鈥淭he atrium offered a fantastic opportunity for a suspended sculpture and I wished for a piece that divided this large space without attempting to fill it with a solid mass.鈥
Mike Smith was chosen to fabricate and install the sculpture. His other work includes 鈥榗loud鈥 a 5m long sculpture, commissioned by British Airways, which hangs outside the entrance to the executive lounges at Terminal 5.
Richard Clare, EC Harris chairman, said: 鈥淲e particularly liked the see-through nature of Jackie鈥檚 design, in that it enriches the atrium space rather than dominating it or cutting down its important views.
鈥淭he shapes, which can be seen from all angles, change in different light conditions.鈥
