Director of international operations resigns in restructure

Cyril Sweett has restructured its business into three regional centres - Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East, Africa and India (MEAI).

As a result of the reshuffle, the group鈥檚 director of international operations Eamonn Kerr has resigned, the company said in a statement.

Kerr joined Cyril Sweett in 2001 and took over responsibility for the group鈥檚 international operation in 2007, before joining the company鈥檚 board in March 2010.

Michael Henderson, non-executive chairman of Cyril Sweett, said: 鈥淓amonn has played an influential and critical role in establishing our international presence in a very short space of time and on behalf of the board, I thank Eamonn for his services to the Company, and wish him all the best in the future.鈥

Cyril Sweett also announced the promotion of Kim Berry to managing director and executive member of the board for Asia Pacific.

Berry was previously responsible for the group鈥檚 operation in China and is based in Hong Kong.

Derek Pitcher, previously managing director with responsibility for Europe will now also head up the MEAI region.

Henderson said: 鈥淜im鈥檚 appointment [to the board] demonstrates the group鈥檚 growing international focus as we continue to evolve into a globally diverse business.

鈥淚n addition to a proven track record in successfully managing an international, growing business, Kim brings over 30 years of experience from the Asian construction markets to the board.

鈥淲ith around 30% of the group鈥檚 revenue currently coming from the Asia Pacific region, it is clear the region will continue to be a key driver for the group and alongside the restructuring of the group鈥檚 management structure will ensure that Cyril Sweett is fully aligned to take advantage of opportunities across the world.鈥
