Paddington New Yard contract is group鈥檚 11th for London infrastructure scheme

Costain has been appointed to its 11th Crossrail job 鈥 a 拢30m contract to build a new intersection between Crossrail tunnels and the Great Western railway.

The Paddington New Yard scheme includes the construction of a 鈥榖us parking deck鈥 to allow space for Crossrail trains to diverge from the Great Western line, as well as preparatory work for the installation of new rail track and systems for new sidings.

Costain chief executive Andrew Wyllie said: 鈥淐ostain was selected because of our ability to deliver value as a long-standing partner, which we believe is firmly in keeping with 鈥楨ngineering Tomorrow鈥: our commitment to generating and delivering innovative, value-driven solutions to meet major national needs.鈥

Work will commence immediately and is expected to complete in December 2015.
