Institute profiles own president in celebration of personalities behind building boom
The Chartered Institute of ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø has published a book celebrating China's development of a modern construction industry.
ºÚ¶´ÉçÇø Modern China focuses on the personal stories of 21 people who made significant contributions to the country's "first urban development Big Bang". Li Shirong, who was appointed president of the CIOB in June and is trade emissary for the city of Chongqing, is one of those profiled.She describes forced work as an agricultural labourer on a collective farm before being permitted to go to university.
