Work includes 拢200m infrastructure win on Emaar's Burj and a 拢200m contract for a new F1 hotel

Carillion has won 拢1bn of new work in the Middle East through its joint venture business Al Futtaim.

Contract wins include up to 拢200m of infrastructure works on Emaar Properties Burl development in Dubai.

The firm one two other contracts in the city: a partnering contract for the 拢465m TimeZone Business Park development of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority, and 拢160m of building and infrastructure works on Union Properties鈥 Motor City development.

In Abu Dhabi Carillion has won a 拢200m contract to build the Race Track Hotel on the new Forumla 1 racing circuit on Yas Island, and 拢100m of infrastructure works at smelting facilities for Emirates Aluminium.

Carillion chief executive John McDonough said: 鈥淥ur Middle East business is well positioned in strong growth markets and continues to negotiate new work with long-term key customers."

"We are therefore increasingly confident that we will double our revenue from the region to over 拢600 million by the end of 2009, at stable margins of some six per cent."

McDonough said the market was expected to remain strong for the next five to ten years.
