Capita Symonds has further strengthened its Aquatic Resource Management (ARM) offering with the appointment of Dr Juliet Richards as a senior environmental consultant.
Richards joins the team from the University of Manchester, where she worked as a research associate and lecturer in the School of Environment & Development.
Her principal research interests lie in the role of national, regional and local planning policy and practice in managing the water environment - particularly in terms of the UK water resource and flood risk management.
Richards has published work in a number of peer reviewed journals related to this field of interest and has recently completed a comparative review of surface water management systems in four European countries.
With over nine years experience, including work for British Waterways, she also brings specialist expertise in Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Sustainability Appraisals (SA), Strategic Environmental Assessments, Research Techniques and Stakeholder and Community Engagement.
She has also worked in the field measuring glacial movement in the Arctic, surveyed Arctic mountain flora and studied zooplankton populations in the Arctic Ocean.
Chris Conroy, who leads Capita Symonds鈥 ARM offering, said: 鈥淪he will play a key role in further developing our aquatic services and ensuring that Capita Symonds delivers a holistic approach to design, management and assessment in the aquatic environment.鈥
