Consultant to support delivery of Boris Johnson鈥檚 scheme to retrofit 175,000 homes
Consultant Capita has won a 拢3m contract to support the delivery of a 拢50m programme of energy efficiency retrofits across London.
Under the contract Capita will provide funding, technical and procurement advisory services to the Mayor of London鈥檚 Re:New programme, which funds improvements to the homes of social housing providers, local authorities and private homeowners.
The scheme is set to improve 175,000 homes over the next three years.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson said the 鈥渧ital鈥 investment would enable his office to 鈥渉elp boroughs transform some of the poorest quality council estates and social housing in need of urgent repair鈥.
He added: 鈥淢any families are also rightly concerned at the cost of their energy bills so I鈥檓 delighted to be able to put in place a programme of energy-saving measures for homes across the capital. This will result in renovations that lower energy bills for thousands of residents.鈥
John Alker, director of policy at the UK Green 黑洞社区 Council, said the programme would be a 鈥渂oost for the capital鈥檚 green housing ambitions鈥.
