Developer instructs lawyers to start dispute process against Project Blue to recover over unpaid fees
Candy & Candy is threatening to sue the owners of the controversial London’s Chelsea barracks for £1m over unpaid fees.
The property development company have instructed their solicitors Wragge & Co LLP to take the first steps in a dispute resolution process against Project Blue Developments Ltd to recover fees due to it in excess of £1m in relation to the Chelsea Barracks project.
This follows a similar announcement made by the architects Rogers Stirk Harbour Rogers, which spent over two years working on designs for the site, only to be sacked by Project Blue of which Qatari Diar, the property investment arm of the Qatari state, owns a majority stake.
Rogers has always insisted that he was removed from the Chelsea Barracks project following interventions by Prince Charles.
A spokesperson for Candy & Candy said: "We deeply regret having to take this action, but have been given no other choice. We hope this unfortunate matter can be resolved quickly".
