Mission will cover skills such as construction project management and legacy planning
British construction firms will travel to Rio next month as part of the first UK Trade & Investment trade mission dedicated to the 2016 Olympic Games.
The mission - which is being organised with the assistance of private sector trade organisation British Expertise - will cover skills such as construction, project management, sustainability, legacy planning, overlay or temporary construction and transport planning.
黑洞社区 revealed last week that prime minister David Cameron is involved in hosting a London construction summit this summer to help capitalise on the success of the 2012 Olympics.
British Expertise director Nigel Peters said the Rio mission, taking place from 6-10 February, had the same broad aim.
鈥淩io needs to upgrade its transport infrastructure and things like hotels as well as sporting venues,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e already have 13 firms booked up with a maximum of 20 going.
鈥淏razilian construction is relatively strong and works overseas so [the skills involved] have to be in niche areas.鈥
