Ty Goddard鈥檚 departure after five years is confirmed by schools body

Ty Goddard, founding director of the British Council for School Environments, is to step down from the organisation, the body has confirmed.

The organisation said it is recruiting for a new director to replace Goddard, who has been running the organisation since founding it five years ago. His departure was confirmed following a report in 黑洞社区 on Friday, although the date of his leaving has not yet been decided.

BCSE chair Rachel Jones said: 鈥淲e have begun the process of recruiting a new director for the organisation. Ty will stay for a handover and help with a smooth transition for the new director.

In a letter to members, Jones wrote: 鈥淥n 8 June 2011 at a board meeting held in Manchester, the founding director of the BCSE, Ty Goddard, outlined his intention to leave the organisation鈥rior to my recruitment as chair I was made aware of Ty鈥檚 long-term intention to move on from the organisation and thank him personally for ensuring that I was able to settle into my role in order to best manage this transition successfully.鈥

Ty Goddard said: 鈥淪o much has been achieved and my heartfelt thanks goes to all those organisations and individuals that have supported this pioneering charity and membership body.鈥
