Cardiff firm bags contracts to build Royal Mail delivery office and Territorial Army cadet centre
Boyes Rees Architects has won a 拢3.5m contract to design a new Royal Mail delivery office and a Territorial Army cadet centre in Grays, Essex.
The Cardiff-based company has been appointed by Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation to build a 1,500m2 Royal Mail delivery office and a 700m2 army centre and joint cadet building, as the existing buildings are being demolished to make way for a community hospital.
The practice is on the Royal Mail supplier framework and has previously delivered major projects for the Royal Mail including the 拢65m distribution centre at Coventry airport and 拢2m vehicle and transport workshops in Southampton.
Niall Lindsay, chief executive of the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation, said: 鈥淭he relocation of these twoorganisationsforms an integral part in the plan to deliver a much needed new community hospital to the population of Thurrock.鈥
The project is due to complete by July 2011.
