Contractor’s £510m of work last month pushes it up to second in annual league, above Laing O’Rourke
Two huge contracts secured the top spot for Bovis Lend Lease in September’s monthly contractors’ league, and pushed it into second place in the rolling annual league, forcing Laing O’Rourke down one place into third.
Bovis made it to the top in September after winning £510m of work from a combination of private and public sector clients. The biggest win was a £300m contract to build Park Place shopping centre in Croydon, awarded by a joint venture of developer Minerva and Bovis’ Australian parent Lend Lease.
It also won a £200m 25-year PFI contract to handle and recycle waste for 15 local authorities on Lancashire.
The wins were not enough however to knock Balfour Beatty off the number one position in the annual league. The contractor has won deals worth more than £3.8bn in the past 12 months, almost £1.5bn more than its nearest competitor.
