The figure at its construction arm was up by 20% from 拢2.9bn (鈧3.7bn) to 拢3.4bn (鈧4.4bn) and the group said all businesses had contributed to the 鈥渟harp increase鈥.

Turnover at its road-building Colas division jumped by 14% from 拢3.8bn (鈧4.9bn) to 拢4.4bn (鈧5.6bn) while its property arm saw sales grow 61% from 拢633m (鈧808m) in the first half of 2007 to 拢1bn (鈧1.3bn).
