Exclusive: Bam wins batch of university technical colleges comprising six separate projects in different parts of the country
Bam Construct has won a £60m batch of university technical colleges, comprising six separate projects in different parts of the country.
The Department for Education confirmed Bam had been selected as preferred bidder for the batch, which includes the £10m Swindon UTC, which had already been announced, as well as South Devon UTC, Wiltshire Defence Industries UTC, Leigh UTC, in Dartford, Heathrow UTC and Sir Charles Kao UTC, in Harlow.
The Scott Brownrigg-designed Swindon UTC (pictured) won planning this week and will be an engineering academy.
The facility is being jointly sponsored by Oxford Brookes University and hi-tech international firm, Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells, a provider of cutting edge sustainable technologies.
