Contractor wins extension to renewal framework plus two more 拢25m-plus deals
Contractor Balfour Beatty has scooped contracts worth up to 拢248m from Network Rail the firm announced today.
It said it had won a four-year extension to its existing track renewal framework, worth 拢56m in the first year and up to 拢171m overall. The contract will see it build rail, switches and junction crossings alongside associated signalling, electrification and drainage for the whole of Network Rail鈥檚 South East territory.
In addition Balfour Beatty said it had received a contract worth 拢50m for 鈥檊rinding鈥 plain line rail, and a 拢27m contract to add a third rail track to the Paisley line in Glasgow. This contract will finish in 2012.
Balfour Beatty chief Executive, Ian Tyler, said he was 鈥渄elighted鈥 to have picked up the contracts. 鈥淭hese further contract awards demonstrate the strength of our partnership and we look forward to delivering a first-class service to Network Rail,鈥 he said.
