Deal is part of university’s 10-year campus regeneration programme
Balfour Beatty has been chosen to build the University of Reading’s new £33m health and life sciences.
The job, which was awarded through the university’s £250m building framework, will see the contractor construct a 7,500m2 teaching and research facility.
Works are due to start later this month, with the project expected to employ a workforce of more than 150 at its peak. This includes a number of apprenticeship positions and work placement opportunities.
The new health and life sciences building is part of the university’s 10-year campus regeneration programme.
Balfour Beatty has been working with the university through its building framework since July 2015.
The country’s biggest contractor is due to announce its 2017 annual results next Wednesday.
