Contractor picks energy and mining figure to run board
Balfour Beatty has named Philip Aiken as its non-executive chairman, completing a boardroom shake-up after a string of profit warnings since 2012.
He will take up the post on 26 March, when current chairman Steve Marshall retires. Aiken will join fellow new board directors chief executive Leo Quinn and finance director Philip Harrison.
Aiken is also non-executive chairman of software group Aveva and a non-executive director of Newcrest Mining and National Grid, though he will step down from the latter role this month. He is a former executive of miner BHP Billiton.
