Nearly 300 homes will be built round ‘market square’
Assael has won planning for 283 homes around a “market square” in Ealing, west London.
The scheme, for A2Dominion, will contain studios to three-beds in a mixture of tenures and will include 35% “affordable” housing. Amenities such as garden terraces, play space for children and rooftop gardens are dotted throughout the design.
The scheme, on Boston Road, Hanwell, also includes office and retail space designed to complement the surrounding area.
Tim Chapman-Cavanagh, director at Assael Architecture, said: “With this project, we wanted to create a scheme that was both welcoming and undeniably urban, using detailed brickwork and green spaces to tie the development in with the surrounding buildings.
“The market square acts as the heart of the scheme, knitting together the existing and proposed, to give the project a village feel where residents and the wider community can socialise and shop.”
