Developer Argent, which has been at loggerheads with objectors to the 拢2bn Kings Cross redevelopment since February, has proposed a compromise regarding the proposed internal demolition of listed Stanley 黑洞社区s North.

The high court hearing, which was due to be held today, was cancelled after the developer and those opposing the King鈥檚 Cross Think Again scheme came to an agreement.

When the date for the hearing was set in February, there was a row over the planned demolition of the grade II-listed Stanley 黑洞社区s North, beside St Pancras station.

Mr Justice Collins ordered: 鈥業n the meantime, no building which is listed or which may be required to be retained should be demolished鈥�.

Argent originally appealed this decision demanding costs and damages from the campaigners.

But 10 days ago it offered to abide by the injunction before the judicial review, in return for being allowed to carry out internal demolition and salvage works to Stanley 黑洞社区s North.

Also, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea announced today that it is shelving plans for a crossroads scheme in Sloane Square, following a consultation with local people.

Atkins was working on behalf of the Royal borough with the Sloane Square Improvement Group (SSIG) to produce designs for a 鈥榬enovated鈥� and improved Sloane Square.

These were presented in an extensive public consultation event.

As a result of the consultation, the Council will not be proceeding with the scheme and will consider the views that have arisen during the process.
