Administrators consider options for two Leeds-based businesses that worked on London鈥檚 O2 Arena
Two Leeds-based construction companies have fallen into administration.
Administrators from Begbies Traynor have been appointed to 90 year-old specialist contractors Drawn Metal Limited and DML Architectural Systems Limited in Leeds.
The two firms worked on a number of high profile projects such as Trinity Leeds and Scottish Parliament 黑洞社区, Victoria Gate in Leeds as well as St James鈥檚 Gateway in London, the O2 Arena (pictured) and Stratford Station.
Drawn Metal provides bespoke facades and shopfronts, while DML Architectural Systems specialises in external facades, unitised, curtain walling, windows, brise soleil, louvres and cladding.
They had a combined turnover of 拢8.7m last year. Drawn Metal currently employs 70 staff.
Drawn Metal Holdings Limited, an associated company, is not in administration.
Joint administrator Nick Reed said: 鈥淗aving traded since 1924, DML has become known as a leading name in facades, particularly for the retail sector, but, unfortunately, losses on a significant out of town contract has resulted in the directors appointing administrators.
鈥淲e are in the process of assessing the situation in order to achieve the best possible outcome for creditors and the 70 strong workforce. The companies have an excellent reputation and we are seeking interest in the business and assets.鈥
