Tower will be 22 storeys
Plans for a £30m mixed-use tower that will be the tallest building in Reading have been given the green light by local planners.
No1 Reading, designed by Broadway Malyan, will be a 22-storey tower featuring a 135-bed hotel and five storeys of office space.
On the ground floor there will also be café and retail space, while the first floor will feature a reception and bar, while the second floor will have a restaurant.
The tower will be built opposite the railway station, with the developers citing the arrival of Crossrail as an opportunity to create new business in the Berkshire town.
The tower will be built using modular construction and will feature a brown roof and living walls.
