Last week saw the opening of Heatherwick Studio’s Vessel, the $200m centrepiece to New York’s $25bn Hudson Yards scheme. Comprising only stairs – almost 2,500 of them – connected by a series of landings, it offers visitors a plethora of perspectives on the city
