Piling work was completed last week on the Peljesac Bridge near Komarna, Croatia, being built to create territorial continuity for the Republic of Croatia. It will link the southern exclave comprising the bulk of Dubrovnik-Neretva with the remainder of the Croatian mainland while circumventing border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Political controversy halted work for several years but it restarted last year and will complete in late 2022.
