This week鈥檚 #buildingdoodle sketch is by Philip Watson, design director at Atkins. It is an initial concept sketch for the new Richmond upon Thames College. Watson says the image 鈥渆xplores the idea of a ribbon of teaching accommodation around an inviting 鈥榣earning landscape鈥� of stepped plateau spaces鈥�.

鈥淣aturally lit and with views out, this is a series of enticing spaces where students and staff can socialise and work informally; where movement around the building can be observed, and a sense of a connected college community is engendered,鈥� he adds.
