This week鈥檚 #buildingdoodle sketch is the competition entry that founded Mecanoo in 1984
James Taylor-Foster, an employee at the firm, said: 鈥淚t is an axonometric sketch of the ground level of the Kruisplein Housing Scheme in Rotterdam, a competition won by architects Francine Houben, Roelf Steenhuis, and Henk D枚ll whilst they were studying at Delft Technical University (The Netherlands). It was designed to be adaptive and flexible, both in retail and residentially speaking, and is still in full use. Francine Houben is now Creative Director of Mecanoo.鈥�
