Everyone says they鈥檙e going digital, but are construction firms and their clients really making the most of the opportunities the process offers to increase efficiency?

It has been more than a year since the UK government announced a 拢5.4m fund to set up the Centre for Digital Built Britain with the aim of delivering a 鈥渟mart digital economy for infrastructure and construction for the future鈥. It outlines a future in which the internet of things, analytics and advances in manufacturing will combine to bring about better planned buildings and infrastructure built cheaply and efficiently.

Technology itself is developing in leaps and bounds 鈥 advances in robotics, artificial intelligence and offsite construction are written about almost every day 鈥 but conversations with experts always come back to one fact: digitisation is not about science but about people.
