The playing field is not even

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Mr Abisogun (). As a quantity surveyor working for a small/medium-sized contractor we regularly see large firms (listed on the FTSE 100) bidding for projects that are below the £1m mark.

In some cases, one firm in particular has won projects that we have tendered for and our company along with the other local building contractors have been denied access to a project that was ideally suited for small/medium sized contractors. I agree that competition is good. However, you get the feeling that the playing field is engineered against the smaller building contractors.
