If we build over everything we鈥檒l have nothing left to work with

Housing

Nick Boles talks about the 鈥渞ight to a home with a little bit of ground around it to bring your family up in鈥 as a basic right (鈥溾, 28 November, www.building.co.uk).

鈥淏asic rights鈥 such as leaving room in the countryside to grow food and collect water to drink are always good. Build over everything and you have nothing left to work with. Of course you could always hope the rest of the world will sell us food and water at reasonable prices - that鈥檚 worked for the UK鈥檚 energy policy, hasn鈥檛 it?
