Wates has won the sole contractor role on Scape鈥檚 拢133m East Midlands Property Alliance (EMPA) provincial framework.

Scape鈥檚 regional framework came up for renewal after the previous four-year framework expired.

The previous framework had three contractors - Kier, Willmott Dixon and Wates - but now Wates has been appointed to the role of sole contractor on the new framework.

The framework covers small to medium-sized projects between 拢500,000 and 拢7.5m and is worth up to 拢133m over four years.

Phil Harrison, managing director, Wates Construction Midlands and North, said: 鈥淪ince our appointment to the empa Intermediate framework in 2009, we have delivered a range of works across the region and we have worked in partnership with Scape to ensure this work has brought with it a boost to the regional economy through local subcontractor engagement.

鈥淲e look forward to continuing our relationship with Scape to provide public sector clients with true value for money.鈥

Head of EMPA Alan Coole said: 鈥淲e are also committed to using a high percentage of local contractors and suppliers in the vicinity of each project, maximising local spend and reinvesting in the local economy.鈥
