Protestors attempt to access Balfour Beatty鈥檚 Blackfriars station

A video has emerged of protestors clashing with police outside Balfour Beatty鈥檚 Blackfriars station construction site in London.

The disturbances came as electricians staged protests across the country for the fourth consecutive month over planned changes to their pay and conditions.

Protest organisers claimed demonstrations also took place at Redcar in Hartlepool; Cardiff Hospital, Wales, St Catherine鈥檚 Hospital in Birkenhead and Balfour Beatty鈥檚 head office in Glasgow, Scotland last Wednesday.

Seven of the industry鈥檚 largest electrical contractors - including Balfour Beatty Engineering Services (BBES) - have been targeted after they announced plans to ditch a 40-year-old wage agreement between employers and electrical workers.
