A crack in the floor that forms an art installation in the Tate Modern has caused 15 injuries in seven weeks
Tate Modern鈥檚 Shibboleth exhibition has caused 15 injuries since its opening seven weeks ago, it has been revealed.
The crack running through the museum鈥檚 Turbine Hall winds over 167m through the site and opens into deep gaps throughout. Four accidents which were reported to the Health and Safety Executive were classed as minor injuries.
Before the opening of the exhibition, the museum head of safety and security warned in an internal message about the 鈥減otential for significant leg injury鈥.
He said that safety measures which would usually have to be applied to gaps of the size of the exhibit are not appropriate for Shibboleth 鈥渄ue to its artistic nature鈥.
