Up to 60 construction workers are feared dead and 100 others are missing after a bridge collapsed in southern Vietnam on Wednesday morning.

About 250 people were thought to be working on the Japanese-funded project at the time of the accident. Three Japanese contractors 鈥 Taisei Corporation, Kajima Corporation, and Nippon Steel Engineering Company 鈥 were on the site when a section of the $300m (拢149m) bridge, which is due to be Vietnam鈥檚 longest, buckled in Can Tho City.
