Robertson sees profit jump
Profit at Robertson recovered from the effects of the pandemic last year with the Scottish contractor seeing its bottom line rebound in its latest set of accounts.
The firm, which completed work on an £87m contract for new hangar facilities at RAF Lossiemouth during the period, said pe-tax profit was £17m in the year to June last year – up from £1.2m for the 15 months to June 2020.
Operating profit returned to the black with a £15m profit from a £6m loss last time.
The firm said turnover was £588m compared to £650m for the previous 15 month period.
In accounts filed at Companies House, Robertson said £479m of its income was from construction with £93m from its FM arm.
The firm, which employed 2,600 people during the period, claimed £872,000 in furlough money from the government last year compared to £4m the year before.
Robertson, whose work on the Macallan Distillery, designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners, was shortlisted for the 2019 Stirling Prize, said the salary of the highest paid director, who is not named, was just over £1m compared to the £1.475m the best paid director picked up during the previous period.
