Work on Assael scheme to start early next year
The partnership between Transport for London and private rental landlord Grainger has updated its proposal for a housing scheme at Nine Elms in south London.
Designed by Assael Architecture, the scheme will be built above the new Nine Elms London Underground station being built by Laing O鈥橰ourke and Ferrovial 鈥 the joint venture behind the 拢1.2bn Northern line extension which will run from Battersea to Kennington via Nine Elms.
The proposals now include around 475 homes, up from the original 450, ranging from studios up to three beds across three buildings, of which 40% will be affordable.
The development will also provide commercial space, cycle parking and a new public square, plus new jobs during construction.
Called Connected Living, the Grainger team is due to submit a planning application for the work this spring with work starting on site early next year.
