A clutch of consultants have been appointed to the 拢600m second phase of the redevelopment of London鈥檚 iconic Battersea Power Station, 黑洞社区 can reveal.

Architect Wilkinson Eyre, cost consultant Gardiner & Theobald, structural engineer Buro Happold, conservation architect Purcell and services engineer Chapman BDSP have all won places on the project, which will see the power station itself transformed into a shopping, office, and eventscomplex as well as high-end residential flats.

Client Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC) said it was also currently 鈥渆ngaging with the contractor market鈥 to establish a shortlist of firms for the main contractor role.

All the consultants, bar Chapman BDSP, are already working on a 拢100m package of restoration and repair works to the grade II*-listed power station, alongside contractor Mace.

The main 拢600m redevelopment of the power station building will feature retail and events space on the lower floors, 58,000m2 of offices above and 248 flats crowning the building.

The scheme also incorporates a circular glass lift that will emerge out of the top of one of the building鈥檚 rebuilt chimneys, giving visitors views across London.

The works are the second phase of a Rafael Vi帽oly-masterplanned wider regeneration scheme.

The Battersea developer announced in October that Gehry Partners and Foster + Partners will design phase three - a new high street running on the south side of the power station incorporating 1,200 residential units, a 200-room hotel, 350,000ft2 of retail and restaurant space, a 15,000ft2 library and a new town square.

BPSDC said the appointment of an engineer, cost consultant, services consultant and support consultants for phase three was being finalised and will be 鈥渃onfirmed shortly鈥.

Carillion won the 拢400m first phase to build 866 apartments designed by Ian Simpson and dRMM to the west of the power station.
